As is known to us, culture plays a very important part in our lives. Without it, it would be very hard to understand what people mean. Especially, the culture used in the business.The business negotiation is mostly effected by the culture of different areas. The difference in culture may result in the conflict of culture in the negotiation; even make a failure which would make the business stop. Therefore, it is quite important to grasp correctly when making business negotiations.Due to different backgrounds of culture different countries negotiations have different ways of negotiating. For example, when you negotiate with Americans, they like to do it quickly, which makes people feel sudden. There is a good point in case that an American company took a bargain to Japanese, which has been decided, but when American and Japanese met for the first time, the American put the copy of bargain front of the Japanese. At that time, the Japanese felt very agape. They thought that people who take out the contract for the first time are very crude and unadvisable. So the Japanese drew a conclusion that it would not be wise to carry on further business with such a company.What’s more, it has some formal or informal activities in business negotiations. For example, drinking tea, coffee and so on. Those society activities were affected greatly by the culture, even decided the negotiation whether could continue or not. When Arabia invited you to have a coffee, but you didn’t drink it, they thought that is against good manners of friendship. If you refused a cup of coffee, which they invited you in the business; it would bring you big trouble. Once an American businessman refused Sandi Arabia’s coffee. This kind of brush-off was thought in the Arabia world as a slight to their dignity. Finally, this American businessman lost a good chance.Germans are very punctual. If you are late for negotiations, the Germans would be very cold to talk. In addition, The Germans don’t like to shake hands with people repeatedly.
